Past Sugar Free Bowl's have hosted over 450 players and 100 volunteers. This years SFB is set to be the biggest yet with over 500 players and 200 volunteer/spectators as we have open the tournament up City Wide. This year's tourney will be held on November 14th, 2009 at the University of Texas Intramural Fields - which will be transformed into an enormous 1000 yard playing field - 48 team - 3 division - competition for the Sugar Free Bowl Cups and cash prizes. Location & Times
- The Tournament will be held at Whitaker fields at the University of Texas at Austin located at the intersection of Guadalupe and 51st Street.
- The tournament will take place Saturday, November 14th, 2009 from 8:00am to 10:00pm.
- The tournament will take place rain or shine.
Tournament Guidelines
- The Tournament will consist of 3 City-Wide Leagues: Men’s A league, Men’s B league and Co-ed league.
- Each team must have a designated captain.
- There are 15 max players per team.
- The tournament is being capped off to 12 teams for Men's A, 24 teams for Men's B, and 12 teams for Co-ed.
- Men's A will be split into 3 conferences with 4 teams in each conference.
- Men's B will be split into 6 Conferences with 4 teams in each conference.
- Co-ed will be split into 3 conferences with 4 teams in each division.
- Each team will play every team in their conference (3 regular season games).
- You can play for up to two teams if and only if both teams meet the early registration deadline (in order to accommodate proper scheduling). However, if you do sign up for two teams, you still run the risk of both of your teams playing at the same time. In that case, you must choose which game to play in.
- All players must be 18 years of age and up
- All teams are guaranteed at least 3 games
- All players must have a form of government approved identification
- All UT Students must have UT ID at all times
- No Last Minute Substitutions
- Any violation of the tournament rules/guidelines of the tournament is grounds for immediate disqualification from the tournament at the discretion of Delta Epsilon Psi
Playoff Advancement
- The top two teams from each conference will make the playoffs.
- Therefore, 6 teams from Men's A will make the playoffs, 12 teams from Men's B will make the playoffs, and 6 teams from Co-ed will make the playoffs.
- The playoffs will be single elimination, the top 2 seeds from Men's A will be given first round byes, the top 4 seeds from Men's B will be given first round byes, and the top 2 seeds from Co-Ed will be given first round byes.
- Ties in leagues for qualifying will be based on the following in order:
- Season record
- Head to head competition
- Penetrations
- Defensive points allowed
- Sportsmanship score
- Coin toss
